Wines -About time! I hope that you enjoyed the evening, James and I certainly did, and we will be happy to organise future tastings. If you would like to do more wine tasting, there is a wine workshop at the WI hall on the 1st Thursday of the month, run by John Butterwick. It is great fun, and I recommend it highly. Here is the wine list from the WI meeting, with the descriptions from Jane MacQuitty & Majestic wine. Do you agree with them? All the wine were purchased from Majestic wine, York. Happy tasting, Andrew and James.
Codorníu Selección Raventos NV"From the same Codorníu stable and méthode champenoise process comes the Reserva Raventós Brut. This chardonnay-based fizz delivers pleasing, peppery, waxy spice and closes on a fine marzipan-like note that would make it a happy partner to a wedding cake or traditional Easter simnel cake" Jane MacQuitty, The Times. Price: £6.99 Château Guiot Rosé 2009 Costières de Nîmes"An old southern French friend, made by François and Sylvia Cornut, from vineyards south of Nîmes, planted predominantly with grenache, and some syrah. At 13.5 per cent alcohol, and with lots of firm, refreshing, lemony fruit, this is almost a pale red, not a rosé." Jane MacQuitty, Saturday Times Price: £6.99 or buy 2 for
